Senior Director of Sales & Business Development

Roy is our seasoned Director of Sales and Business Development with a diverse background in finance, agriculture, and strategic leadership, bringing a wealth of experience to Grasslands. Roy began his academic career at the Lebanese American University earning a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in 2005. Building on this foundation, he soon after achieved a Master’s in Business Administration. His most recent academic achievement was the Certified International Trade Professional (CITP/FIBP) designation from FITT in 2022.

Upon graduation from his MBA, Roy accepted a Financial Analyst position with Alghanim Industries, a large, multi-national company whose operations extend beyond the Middle East, based out of Kuwait. In February 2011, Roy began a career in Canada, in the agriculture industry, working for Walker Seeds as a Junior Merchandiser. As his skills and knowledge for the agriculture industry grew, Roy was promoted to Senior Business Development Analyst. By October 2014, Roy was promoted to the Director of Corporate Strategy and Development of Legumex Walker, Inc. After the acquisition of Legumex Walker by Scoular, Roy worked in the Business Development Division, and in July 2017 became the edible beans position manager at Scoular Canada Ltd until May 2019. In his final role before joining Grasslands, Roy was the Senior Director of Agriculture & Agri Value at the Saskatchewan Trade & Export Partnership (STEP).

In his personal time, Roy enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, hunting and gardening.
