Tristan, our Indigenous Insight Lead, is Anishinaabe (Saulteaux) from Cote First Nation and Zagime Anishinabek. Tristan brings a unique blend of educational expertise and fresh perspective to Grasslands. With a Bachelor’s of Education from the University of Regina, Tristan’s journey has been one of continuous growth.

Tristan’s professional experience includes:

→ Indigenous perspectives and land-based teachings

→ Early childhood education

→ Nature-based learning and teaching

→ maskočipihkwahk (Grade 1-3) teacher at Prairie Sky School

→ Learning Resource Teacher at Fort Qu’Appelle Elementary School

At Grasslands, Tristan is embracing a new challenge and diving into the business world with a desire to learn.

Tristan is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Indigenous Education with a commitment to integrating Indigenous teachings into the education system and to supporting and uplifting Indigenous children within the educational framework.

When not at work or studying, Tristan cherishes family time, enjoying camping trips during the summer and frequent family gatherings.
