Operations Manager

Melvin serves as Operations Manager at Prairie Berries and brings 18 years of hands on experience in Saskatoon berry growing and orchard management. He oversees orchard operations, harvest scheduling, and processing coordination across all our acres, helping keep North America’s largest Saskatoon berry orchard productive and healthy throughout the year.

Over the years, Melvin has become a leading expert in Saskatoon berry cultivation and orchard health. His role connects the entire production cycle, from seasonal maintenance and pest management to harvest execution and processing flow. His expertise ensures that production remains efficient, consistent, and aligned with quality expectations.

Since Grasslands’ acquisition, Melvin has played a central role in helping Prairie Berries nearly double production while maintaining the care and attention that define our orchard. His operational leadership continues to anchor the company’s path forward.

Outside of work, Melvin enjoys spending time with his daughters, attending Spanish church services in Regina, and staying closely connected with family in Nicaragua.
