← BackAbout
Grasslands and Prairie Berries unite to introduce Canada's super fruit, Saskatoon Berries, to the global market. This partnership combines Grasslands' extensive expertise in the food and ingredient sector with Prairie Berries' distinction as the world's largest and most sustainable producer of Saskatoon berry products.
Saskatoon berries are a wild fruit native to the North American prairies. They are unrivaled in health and nutrition, packed with phenolics, anthocyanins, and a rich source of eight essential vitamins and minerals.
Research has revealed that Saskatoon berries boast higher antioxidant levels than blueberries, cranberries, pomegranates, raspberries and strawberries.
Why Saskatoon Berries?
Antioxidants help decrease the risk of cancer, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and heart disease.
*ORAC value is commonly used to measure the antioxidant capacity of foods.

Sustainability
Sustain soil health year-round through erosion prevention, nutrient replenishment, and weed control, minimizing fertilizer and herbicide use.
Waste water from berry cleaning is used to water fields.
With 150,000+ trees at the orchard, carbon is sequestered through photosynthesis.
Management team includes over 50% of Canada's recognized minority group. Over 90% of the workforce also from minority backgrounds.
Processing facility is on-site to reduce unnecessary transportation.
We cut trees for faster regrowth, renewing them in 3-4 years instead of 7-10, without soil disturbance or waste.
